To promote youth participation in water governance and sustainable development issues, the Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs, is organizing the “2026 Water Youth Development Program.” Youth aged 15 to 35 are invited to explore topics such as water resources, water environments, river basins, urban resilience, and public participation. Through a cultivation process that includes a call for proposals, study tours, and workshops, participants will propose action plans for Taiwan’s water future.
As part of this program, the “Co-creating a Water Future: Youth Action and Water Sustainability” Youth Water Forum will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. This event will gather this year’s finalist youth teams to present their achievements, alongside guest speakers from fields related to water resources, climate governance, and environmental action. Through youth proposal presentations, expert perspectives, and panel discussions, the forum aims to foster the younger generation’s understanding of and engagement in water governance and sustainability issues.
The forum will cover topics including water resource conservation, river communication, human-water relationships, community symbiosis, campus watersheds, and urban water environments. It is highly suitable for faculty and students in water resources engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, ecology, landscape architecture, urban planning, public policy, sustainable development, social design, and related fields. Teachers and students interested in water resources, climate change, urban resilience, and youth public participation are also warmly welcome to register.
