  2. Objective: Guided by local experts, youths aged 15 to 35 will step outdoors to personally experience local culture, history, ecology, and the environment. Through this process of exploratory learning, participants will gain a renewed understanding and appreciation of Taiwan’s local beauty.

    (1) Journey Through the Silken Waterfall: Experiencing the Ancient Art of Indigo Dyeing
    (2) Walking the Fish Trail: Traditional Straw Sandal Experience

    • Handmade Indigo Dyeing Experience:
      Learn why early ancestors used Strobilanthes cusia (Dajing) as dye, how the craft flourished, and how it has faded over time. Then, design and create your own unique indigo-dyed handkerchief. Indigo dyeing is not just a craft—it’s a vessel of memory and heritage!
    • Straw Sandal Experience on the Fish Trail:
      Put on traditional straw sandals and step onto the historic trail once walked by fish vendors. Listen to the sounds of nature, feel the footsteps of those who paved this path with sweat and burden to support their families, and connect with the wonders of the ecosystem. This experience passes on both history and wisdom!
