Background: Chiayi City is renowned as the “City of Wood.” To promote innovative woodcraft inspired by the spirit of Chiayi, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Chiayi City Government has launched the “Excellent Wood Goods” initiative. This project encourages creators to draw inspiration from Chiayi City and develop creative wooden products. (1) Call for Entries – Theme: Designs should center on the concept of “wooden lifestyle products”, creating works that are related to or representative of Chiayi City. Products should consider material selection, craftsmanship, sustainability, and potential for mass production. Even if participants cannot produce the products themselves, they should be capable of communicating and collaborating with a production line to create items that combine daily practicality with aesthetic appeal. This competition is organized to solicit such creative proposals. (2) Eligibility: Legally registered companies, firms, studios, schools, and other entities. Individual creators (natural persons aged 16 and above) with development and design capabilities. Participants under the age of 18 must submit a signed Parental/Legal Guardian Consent Form, confirming awareness and agreement with the rules and responsibilities of this event. (3) Eligible Product Categories: Any wooden products that may be associated with or representative of Chiayi City, including but not limited to: ● Wooden furniture ● Stationery ● Toys ● Daily household items (4) Product Specifications: The total sum of the product’s length + width + height must not exceed 480 cm (including packaging). (5) Material Guidelines: Non-wood materials should not exceed 10% of the total composition.
